    1. Always acknowledge others and provide an opportunity for all to share

    3. Assume positive intentions in what someone is saying
    4. Ask questions for clarification
    5. Pause before responding
    6. Respect that cultures communicate differently – e.g. eye contact

  3. Diversity and Teamwork

    1. Ensure everyone has a support system – someone to contact for information if a meeting is missed – buddy system
    2. Value diversity of voice in discussions (e.g. recruitment)
    3. Support involvement of each other (e.g. carpool, applications, Skype)
    4. Minimize barriers to participation
    5. We are responsible for our words, actions and how we communicate 
  4. Light and Laughter

    1. Tone of meeting is guided by the Chair
    2. Social opportunity provided before the meeting (i.e. dinner)
    3. Agenda designed for balance – light/serious, formal/informal
    4. Seek to positively resolve conflict
